History of Secaucus Animal Hospital

Secaucus Animal Hospital was founded in the late 1930s by Dr. Morris Ziskind. Dr. Ziskind graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1934 and moved to Secaucus to work with food animals and meat inspection.  He later opened the first small animal hospital of its kind in the region on 1190 Paterson Plank Road.  The practice moved to 1250 Paterson Plank Road, the current location, in the early 1940s.  Dr. Ziskind's biography can be found at

Dr. Philip Teitel purchased the practice in the 1960s after Dr. Ziskind retired.  Many of our clients and staff had the pleasure of working with Dr. Teitel.  Dr. Richard Brady took over the practice in November of 1996 when Dr. Teitel retired.  Dr. Pinero joined the staff of Secaucus Animal Hospital as an associate in 2001.  Dr. John Hatch bought the hospital in April of 2005.  Dr. Andrea Cavedo joined the practice in May 2005.
