John D. Hatch, M.V.B.,M.R.C.V.S.

Dr Hatch grew up in Ireland and graduated with his veterinary degree in 1988 from University College of Dublin. He initially worked in farm animal practice in Northern Ireland and then England. He moved to a small animal practice in London where he worked for 3 years before emigrating to the USA in 1993 on a so-called "lottery visa". Dr. Hatch lived and worked on Cape Cod for 5 years working primarily with dogs and cats but he was also involved with the Marine Mammal Rescue Network where under the direction of the New England Aquarium he attended to stranded dolphins and whales. He moved to New York in 1997 and worked on Long Island for a year . He then worked at Secaucus Animal Hospital for a year.  We were sad to see him go after one year, where he pursued an offer to own a practice in Berkeley Heights.  Fortunately for us,after 4 years the proposal fell through, and we were delighted to welcome him back as the new owner of Secaucus Animal Hospital when he bought the practice from the former owner, Dr. Brady in 2005, who then moved to Arizona.  Dr. Hatch has adopted the slogan, "We will care for your pets like they're our own."-- a philosophy that the entire staff of Secaucus Animal Hospital feels encompasses the way we practice veterinary medicine.

Dr. Hatch lives in Summit, NJ with his 2 dogs Baxter and Susie and his 10 cats (lots of rescues! ). Both of his dogs and most of his cats were adopted through Secaucus Animal Hospital.

In his spare time Dr. Hatch loves to go to the movies, read, garden and head back to Cape Cod and is very active with his local church. He is currently President of Summit's board of health. Northern New Jersey Veterinary Medical Association

Dr. Cavedo practiced for 1 year in Charleston before moving to Secaucus.  After reading an article about Dr. Hatch and Secaucus Animal Hospital, she applied for a positon as a veterinarian and began practicing here in June 2005.
